Cathy MacHold is an Independent Hemingway Scholar whose research interests focus on Ernest Hemingway’s life, literary work, travels, and international influence. She has presented at four international Hemingway conferences and has also presented in Ketchum, Idaho, a community closely associated with Hemingway’s later life. Her scholarship is informed by extensive travel to sites connected with Hemingway, including two visits to Cuba. She is the author of two instructional resources, Writing With Hemingway: A Writer’s Exercise Book and Introducing the Young Writer, Ernest Hemingway, and has taught at Sierra College and Placer School for Adults.
