- September 15, 2018 teaching The Writer’s Journey through Placer School for Adults.
- September 6, 7, 8, 2018 participating in The Ernest Hemingway Seminar at the Ketchum Community Library in Idaho. Discussing A Farewell to Arms: Hemingway and WWI
- Paris, July 19-28, 2018 Hemingway in Paris Conference, Cathy is presenting “Oh, Those Hemingway Clothes.
- May 29 and 31, 2018, Getting Started with Your First Work of Fiction class, Placer School for Adults, Auburn, CA. 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
- May 16, 2018, Gold Country Writer’s speaker, Cathy MacHold-“What Aspiring Writers Can Learn from Hemingway’s Clothes, 10 AM – Noon. Held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
- March, 3, 2018 The Writer’s Journey class, Placer School for Adults, 10 AM to noon.
- February 8, 2017 – Cathy is presenting a Writing With Hemingway workshop with a focus on “hooks” and “prompts” to the Sierra Writers, in Nevada City, CA. The Sierra Writer’s meet at the Nevada County Library on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
- September and October, 2016 – Cathy will co-teach with Paul Cholet, a high school and college English and Creative Writing teacher will teach “Writing with Hemingway” this fall at Placer School for Adults. Classes are from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on consecutive Wednesdays starting on September 7, 2016, and running through October 12, 2016 (Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28 and Oct. 5, 12).
- July 21, 2016 – Look for the Auburn Journal review of Writing with Hemingway, A Writer’s Exercise Book July 2016. This is a tie-in connection with Ernest Hemingway’s 117th birthday on July 21.
- July 17-22, 2016 – Cathy is presenting “Teaching Writing with the Short Stories” as an Independent Scholar during the XVII Biennial International Ernest Hemingway Conference held in Oak Park, Illinois.
